"I Want To Talk it Over With My Husband"
By Hilton Johnson, The MLMCoach
(This question was submitted by Valerie Day.)
"Hilton, what do you say when a woman says she has to ask
her husband before buying products or joining a business?"
Well, first of all Valerie, nobody likes to hear that after giving a
complete presentation to a prospect. If this "stall" does come up
though, it means either one of two things is going on:
1. The prospect is either not sold on you, your products or
your business.
Or...
2. The woman really does have to speak with her husband
before making a final decision.
If the prospect is not sold on your offer and is just using this as
an excuse to get rid of you, it means you probably have a weak
presentation.
You can easily solve that problem by owning and learning the
"Selling By Attraction" Network Marketing presentation.

If, however, the prospect is serious about your offer and really
does have to talk with her husband, there is a special language
sequence I want you to use the next time you hear this objection.
Here's the sequence:
1. Agree with her
2. Sell her on her own objection
3. Get her commitment
4. Train her on how to sell her husband
Here's how it would sound:
Prospect: "I need to speak with my husband before I can
make a decision"
You: "I agree with you. It's an important decision and
you should discuss it with your husband. Please take
all of the time you need. When will you be speaking
with him?"
Prospect: "Oh, I'll see him over the weekend. I can speak to
him then."
You: "That sounds good. Let me ask you something, though.
If the decision were left entirely up to you, how do YOU
feel about it? What would YOU do?"
Prospect: "I would do it."
You: "When you see your husband this weekend, what
are you going to tell him?"
Prospect: "I'm going to tell him I want to go forward."
You: "If he asks why you want to go forward, what are
you going to say?"
Get the idea?
All things being equal, you don't want to hear this objection.
But if you do, you can increase the odds that you'll close the
deal later by getting the prospect to make a solid commitment
to you now, and then allow you to help her prepare to talk
with the husband.
(Coach's Note: Of course, the same situation would
apply if a man wanted to talk it over with his wife or another
person wanted to talk it over with his or her significant other.)
