"I Want To Think About It"

Hilton, what do you say to people who have heard a
presentation and respond with: "I want to think about it."?
Suzanne, if someone tells you they want to think it about it
after hearing your complete presentation, you probably
did not give a very compelling presentation to begin with.
That being the case, you're at a disadvantage.
You can, however, increase the odds they will go forward
after they think it over provided you can get them to start
thinking right now about the benefits of what you have to
offer.
Here's an example of what to say when they want to think
over the business opportunity you presented:
Prospect: "I want to think about it."
You: "That's a good idea. You should think about it. I
wouldn't want you to go forward until you were really sure."
You: "How much time do you need to think it over?"
Prospect: "Oh, two or three days."
You: "No problem. Let me ask you something-how do you
feel about it right now?"
Prospect: "I like what I've heard so far."
You: "What do you like about it?"
Prospect: "Well, I like the idea that I can do this from my
home, I don't have to quit my job to get started and I like
the products."
You: "If you feel as good about it three days from now as
you do right now, will you go forward?"
Prospect: "Yes."
You: "Will you call me in three days and let me know your
decision?"
Prospect: "Yes."
Bingo! You have just increased the odds of the prospect going
forward with you. Why? Because you have gotten the prospect
to start thinking about the benefits of your offer right now instead
of three days from now.
