"My Deal's Better Than Yours"

"My Deal's Better Than Yours"
By Hilton Johnson, The MLMCoach

Mark D. Worthen, Psy.D., submitted this question to me:

"Hilton, what do you say when someone calls
you pretending to be interested in your business,
but what they really want to do is sell you on
their own business opportunity?"

Frankly, I love when this happens to me. I call
these people "pretenders."

The reason I'm glad when pretenders call and
try to sell me on their business is because
I'm almost guaranteed to give them MY presentation.

And I know going in that my presentation is probably
better than theirs!

I'll gladly pit my deal and my ability to explain it
against any other deal out there because I know
that the best presentation will most often win the
other one over.

How about you?

Are you confident enough in your company and your
ability to explain your deal that you'll go "heads
up" with anybody?

If not, you might want to think about that because
the difference between success and failure in
Network Marketing is in your willingness to make
contact with lots of people and your ability to give
powerful, compelling presentations.

Pure and simple.

Assuming though, that you do have a good business
presentation, here's what you say the next time
someone calls you pretending to be interested in your
business, only to spring their business on you:

You: "I'm glad you mentioned that you have a business
opportunity you want me to see because I'm always open
to other opportunities. Don't you feel the same way?

Don't you feel that you and I should always be open to a
better deal if we can find it?"

Pretender: "Oh.yeah, sure."

You: "Tell you what.I'll take a look at your business
and keep an open mind about being a part of it. How
does that sound?"

Pretender: "Great!"

You: "All I ask is that you do the same. Give me the
same courtesy I'll give you by allowing me to explain
my business to you, in its entirety. Keep an open mind,
just like I will with you, and if my business is a better
opportunity than yours, you join MY company. Okay?"

Pretender: "Yes."

Yee haw! Ain't that cool?

Now, a word of caution.

If you don't have an organized business presentation
that you know will knock the socks off your competitors,
you can solve that problem now, once and for all, by
owning the "Selling By Attraction Home Study Program."

Check it out before the price increases. (... coming soon.)

Remember this always.

He who has the best presentation wins!

What to Say When People Ask..."What Do You Do?"

What to Say When People Ask..."What Do You Do?"
By Hilton Johnson, The MLMCoach

I received this question from "Robert."

(Special note to Robert: If you want to learn how
to give good introductions, Robert, you might start
by providing your last name too!)

Okay, now that I got that out of the way...

When someone asks what kind of work you do or
something to that effect, there is only one phrase
you have to remember to get attention:

"What I do is..."

Then all you have to do is add a benefit or two
without sounding pushy.

There are two types of introductions you want to
know how to do well. One that sells your products
and one that helps you recruit people. Let's work
on the product one first.

If you want to sell more products, your introduction
could sound like this:

"What I do is...help people lose weight without going
on diets."

"What I do is...help people eliminate aches and
pains by using magnetic and infrared products."

"What I do is...show people how to save lots of
money when they need an attorney."

"What I do is...help people reduce stress, have
more energy and improve their health by taking all
natural nutritional supplements."

Get the idea?

You can use the same language formula for recruiting
people:

"What I do is...help people go in business for
themselves and work out of their homes."

"What I do is...show people how to fire their bosses
and start their own home-based business."

"What I do is...help people create multiple streams
of income by leveraging their talents, abilities
and their time."

"What I do is...show people how to become financially
independent by partnering with me in the health and
wellness industry."

Pretty easy huh?

If the person you're speaking with is attracted to
the benefits you mentioned, and if you didn't scare
him or her away by overdoing it, you'll get a response
that clearly tells you s/he's interested.

The next step would be to give him or her a presentation.

If you want to know what kind of presentation to give,
go to:

http://www.mlmu.com/products/selling.html

The language formula I just outlined for you is an easy
and generic way for you to get started giving good
introductions that attract ideal prospects.

However, the coolest introductions we coach on at
MLMU are ones that are customized to the individual.

They all contain three key elements:

1. A dramatic benefit
2. An element of curiosity
3. A word picture that describes the "moment" of the benefit

Here's an example of a customized introduction we
created for a distributor who markets air purification
systems:

Prospect: "What do you do?"

Distributor: "What I do is...help people to walk into
their homes and offices and immediately notice that the
air they're breathing is cleaner and fresher than ever
before and free of unhealthy toxins."

Any person who is concerned about the air they breathe
is bound to respond favorably to this introduction.

And when they do, a qualified prospect has been created
out of thin air! (No pun intended)

Special Note: If you would like to have your own customized
introduction, I can have one of my coaches call you and create
it for you. It won't cost you anything ...

Go to:

and fill out the brief form. One of our staff members will contact
you to set up your appointment.
