"What are you doing for lunch on Wednesday the 8th?"
I received an envelope with this message printed near my
name and address:
"What are you doing for lunch on Wednesday the 8th?"
Of course I opened the envelope.
I knew I wouldn't be in Houston on the 8th, but I
was curious about what I would be missing.
I opened the envelope. This was a great first
sentence or headline that prompted me to action.
This would have been effective as the subject line
of an e-mail or a message left on voice mail.
The point?
If we say the right things, prospects jump to
action. Are you saying the right things to get
your prospects to respond?
That's why I am a student of great first sentences
and headlines.
