Stupid things we say.
Q. Why don't prospects see what we see?
A. Because of what we say and what we do.
For example, when we say "financial freedom" - our prospects think an insurance salesman is approaching.
When we say "time freedom" - our prospects know we're telling a lie because nobody has any free time anymore.
When we say "residual income" - our prospects know that residual means "leftover stuff that nobody wants."
Our prospects will see the same vision that we see -- if we communicate that vision clearly. So let's not tell our prospects:
"If you work hard, you can retire in five years."
Let's describe it this way instead:
"My friend is going to college for five years to become a professional. At the end of those five years, he graduates. Then he will start his career.
"Another friend is building his network marketing business for five years. At the end of those five years, instead of starting a career, he will retire."
Notice how the second example helps our prospects to see what we see?
Remember, it's what we say and what we do that makes the difference.

How to get the spouses involved . . . and get more guests to your meetings. by Tom "Big Al" Schreiter
While in Edmonton last week, Ray Despins showed me a great marketing idea.
He scheduled a training meeting for his group. The cost to attend was $15.
But . . .
1. If you brought your spouse, you and your spouse could come for free.
2. Or if you brought a guest, you and your guest could come for free.
Think about it. One of the many challenges leaders face is how to get the spouses involved, and how to get people to bring guests to meetings.
Did this work?
Yes.
Nearly two-thirds of the distributors brought guests or spouses.

Put testimonials on your business cards and . . .
Use the empty back of your business card for testimonials. It's different. Your prospects will notice the testimonials.
And, why not put testimonials in your signature file at the bottom of your email messages? If your testimonial is too long, write a teaser headline and direct the reader to a link on your testimonial page.

Three closing questions that will thrill your prospects. by Tom "Big Al" Schreiter
Your prospects enjoy being treated as adults. They hate manipulation or tricky closing questions such as:
* Don't you love your family? * Any three-year-old can see this a great opportunity. Do you have any problem with it? *Are you a decision-maker or a loser?
Yes, these are pretty rude closing statements, so why not try:
* So, what do you think? * And that's it. * And the rest is up to you.
These are very low-key, non-threatening closing statements. You're telling the prospects that you respect them as adults, and that they are capable of making their own decisions based on the information you have given them.
Just one caution. These closing statements only work IF you have completely answered the three major questions prospects want to have answered in order to make an intelligent decision. So make sure your presentation is complete.

Telephone Techniques That Work.
I'm sure you've listened to Tom Paredes' CD series, Telephone Techniques That Work. It's a great way to quickly focus prospects on what they want, and how you can get it for them.
The following is from one of the out-takes (stuff that didn't get included in the final version).
Conversation with an unqualified prospect:
Prospect: How much money can I make with your opportunity?
Tom Paredes: How much money do you want to earn?
Prospect: I want to earn $10,000 a month.
Tom Paredes: Have you ever earned $10,000 a month before?
Prospect: No.
Tom Paredes: Do you know what it takes to earn $10,000 a month?
Prospect: No.
Tom Paredes: What are you willing to do to earn $10,000 a month?
Prospect: Well, I don't want to have to make phone calls, and I can't go to opportunity meetings because I work nights, and I can't afford to mail postcards. Plus, I don't know anybody. I won't go out and meet strangers - that's just not me. My relatives won't talk to me . . . and if I can't earn at least $10,000 a month with your opportunity, well . . . then you just don't have a good plan.
End of call.
